Elctrikchair is available for any event.  EC is progressive death metal.  Progressive metal is defined as requiring exceptionally refined technical skills to organize, write and perform instrumentally unique and vocally challenging metal music.  This music, when done correctly, is completely original, often compared to quality latin or european metal.

Death metal style vocals can be hard for the uninitiated to digest at the outset, however, given the opportunity they deserve these metal vocals will be appreciated for the skill required and enjoyed for the uniqueness they provide.  This is a grunt style vocal sometimes mixed with cleans (traditional singing).

EC is fun and entertaining for all age groups.  Those seeing the band for the first time should be willing to keep an open mind.  Audiences are seeing real musicianship, the music is pure, not auto-tuned, computer corrected, individual notes designed to deceive the audience.

The modern pop artist vocals you hear in the mainstream (radio) have often been carefully doctored note by note using sophisticated computer software tools until a very average vocalist is made to sound perfect.  Which is why many of these artists will never perform live.

EC's guitar performances are not limited to a few simple cords, a common practice among mainstream radio bands.  The beat is initially exciting but quickly wanes because of excess repetition.

EC musicianship is old school music ethic turned contemporary in that the music is a mix of chords, complicated runs, a variety of exciting note progressions, individual note dynamics and much more.

This intellectual metal music style is generally interesting and attractive to musicians and intellectual types because they understand the skills required and the broad dynamics of the overall performance.  Musicians generally welcome original music and can handle the discomfort that innovation brings.  Book Elctrikchair NOW, you'll be glad you did, so will your patrons.  Enjoy the show!

In order to facilitate accurate and reliable booking we are providing the following definition of terms and informational guidelines:

Definition of Terms

Underground - Not mainstream, generally DIY (do it yourself) or independent labels

National - A performer or group that has performed professionally throughout the U.S.

Venue - Any business open to live music, especially those venues that welcome all genres, especially metal.

Promoter - Anyone professionally engaging in the business of organizing and promoting live entertainment.

Load In - The time designated for unloading equipment prior to a performance.

Light and Sound Check - This is a pre-show rehearsal.  The time designated for setting up sound equipment and rehearsing the sound until it meets with the approval of the sound manager and band and for testing lights and deciding how they'll be used.

Set time - The length of time each band will perform

Lineup - A list of the performing bands in the order they will perform

Door Split - This is a standard protocol that relates to current live entertainment.  The hosting venue and/or the show promoter secures all entry to the venue and collects revenue as patrons enter the door.  After all bands have performed the venue determines total revenues collected and subtracts agreed to expenses (this issue must be resolved during booking).  The remaining revenue is split or divided between the performing bands either equally or as agreed to during the booking process.

Draw - The old school definition is the number of people your band motivates to attend a show.  While this remains true today we prefer to examine every contribution to a successful show.  That is:  Did the headlining band draw?  Did the venue and/or promoter advertise, market and publicize the show effectively?  Did inclement weather have a negaive impact? Did each band do its part in pre-selling tickets or advertising the show?  As you can see, a successful show is a team effort.  Only the folks that participate on an equal plane with everyone involved should be rewarded.  IF YOU DO NOTHING OR A BARE MINIMUM DON'T BE SHOCKED WHEN YOU RECEIVE LITTLE OR NO PAY AT THE END OF THE SHOW.  A SUCCESSFUL SHOW MEANS EVERYONE WORKS THEIR TAILS OFF AND WHEN ITS OVER EVERYONE SHARES EQUALLY IN THE REWARD.

BOOKING GUIDELINES

These are questions every promoter, venue owner or performer should have answers to before booking.
