Elctrikchair Performances In New York

NEW YORK

Buffalo-Showplace Theatre-Destruction Tour 2006

After a long cross country trek, Buffalo was a welcome stop.

The band was glad to arrive at the Show Place Theatre after a brief stop to taste genuine N.Y. pizza.  The people of Buffalo were awesome.

The Show Place Theatre  crowd brought down the house for  Buffalo's FIREBORN, Colorado's GRINDSCAPE, EC and three of the best area metal bands.  The thunder could be heard from the Rockies to the Appalachians, as all of the bands joined to rip metal  that shook the foundation of America.

The tour included a stop at Niagara Falls, an incredible sight.

New York City "The Big Apple"

LEGENDARY CBGB'S

ELCTRIKCHAIR headed to the Big Apple for a Destruction Tour 2006 highlight appearance at the world famous CBGBS.

The most memorable comment ELCTRIKCHAIR got from a CBGB'S staff member: "You guys act so normal, I didn't realize you were the headlining band. Based on how you play, you deserve to be treated like rock stars but its really cool that you don't think you're too cool to be one of us."

CBGBS is being evicted to make room for accommodations for the homeless. It's fitting that the greatest 'grass roots' [non-commercial] independent rock club in the history of the United States is stepping aside to make room for its fellow disenfranchised citizens. Some of CBGB'S history, however, will live on forever. A book that serves as a historical record of the club's past has been written and certain icons of the club are marked to become part of the new CBGB'S to open in Las Vegas in the near future. The world knows that nearly every great band has been invited to play CBGB'S. The walls and nearly everything else [including the urinals and commodes] in the dimly lit punk-metal cove are papered with proof of rock's timeless presence. Walking through the club gives one a very real sense of being embraced by ghosts of rock's past [The Ramones, Nuclear Assault, Dead Boys, Carcass, AC/DC, Napalm Death,The Misfits just to name a few.] CBGB'S has long been and shall always be the envy of every fan, band and music venue in the world. Hails!

CBGB'S ELCTRIKCHAIR brothers, Bob and Andy Rodriguez and bandmate, Steve Stanulonis; put it best, "headlining a show at CBGB'S is such an honor that it wouldn't be fair to set foot on stage without saluting every band, musician or act in America that ever dreamed of being a part of this legend."

Upon learning that his band had been confirmed to headline a show at CBGB'S lead guitarist, Andrew Rodriguez, had this to say, "I dreamed about performing live on stage at CBGB'S since I was in eighth grade [Andrew is now 22 years old]." With a wide-eyed expression on his face and a flood of emotion consuming him, he added, "Playing CBGB'S is my lifetime dream realized, performing as the headlining band at CBGB'S is beyond my wildest imagination. I want every kid who ever picked up a guitar to know that it isn't bull shit. If you're willing to work your ass off dreams do come true. No matter how much crap you have to deal with along the way. This makes every sweltering basement rehearsal and envious insult worth it. Hell yes, CBGB'S, ELCTRIKCHAIR is humbled and honored to become a part of your treasured history.

The only thing that separates us from other musicians is that we are fortunate enough to have this opportunity and willing to pay the dues to get to New York. During our trip we couldn't help wondering how many legendary bands endured the grueling challenges of the road. Without modern conveniences, early rock bands survived starvation diets, gave up showers for weeks on end, tried to ignore the blistering heat and fatigue and set aside the attitudes of assholes they encountered along the way. None of these things discouraged them which is why many of those same things continue to inspire ELCTRIKCHAIR." We played our guts out for our great fans and everyone trying to make it now or that will try in the future. Together, we're the world's music scene."

Long Island's WHISKEY LIFE opened the CBGB'S show with an incredible New York groove metal sound followed by REMAINS OF THE FALLEN who then exploded onto the stage with some of the Big Apple's best hardcore. Colorado's GRINDSCAPE captured New York fans with their awesome Rocky Mountain doom metal sound and headliner, ELCTRIKCHAIR also from Colorado, stormed into the Big Apple sending N.Y. fans into a frenzy with sensational original thrash metal.

Crazed fans moshed, headbanged, jumped on stage in perhaps the most frenzied farewell CBGB'S could ever have envisioned. Ear drum shattering sounds, unrestrained rebellious vocals, melodic perfection, it was all there. None of the fans or bands wanted it to end. At times it seemed members of every band that ever played there was on the floor or on stage and their fans were feeding the endless sea of energy. It was, electric.

The entire CBGB'S show was broadcasted live, via the internet, to rock fans around the world. Hails, to rock fans worldwide!

ELCTRIKCHAIR and GRINDSCAPE are now officially a part of the enduring legacy and proud heritage of the greatest rock club in the history of the United States, New York's, CBGB'S.

We would like to send a special thanks to our friends [who kept us from starving and delirium] fans, venue owners and promoters who made this timeless rock honor of all honors a reality for ELCTRIKCHAIR, GRINDSCAPE, Colorado and most of all, rock fans around the world.

Despite the early morning hour following their performances at CBGB'S, ELCTRIKCHAIR and GRINDSCAPE took time to pay respects to victims of 911 by visiting the former site of the World Trade Center towers, now eternally honored with ongoing construction of appropriate historical monuments.
